Maasai Tour itinerary:
DAY 1
- Departure from Moshi at 8:30 am. We will stop in Arusha
town for personal shopping at Shop Rite Grocery store, as
well as a nearby market where gifts can be purchased for
the village.
- One hour lunch stop at Meserani Snake Park, where you
can visit the Maasai Cultural Museum, view the snake park,
or go for a camel ride.
- Arrival at Monduli Village at approximately 3 pm, after
a stop at the local Maasai market, a good place to purchase
gifts for the Maasai elders.
- Upon arrival, you will be introduced to the Maasai elders,
and dressed in their traditional robes, before taking a
tour of the village.
- After a short rest, you will collect firewood for the
evening’s bonfire while our cook prepares dinner,
which will be served around 7:30 pm.
- After dinner you are free to join the men and women in
traditional Maasai dancing and singing – the highlight
of the trip, for most!
DAY
2
- After breakfast, the women will join the Maasai women
in fetching water and milking the cows, while the men will
have a chance to join the Maasai boys, where they will learn
to throw spears, and take care of cattle in the grazing
fields.
- After a short rest, the Maasai men will perform a very
special celebratory custom, the sacrifice of a goat. Witness
the precision and care that is taken in ensuring that absolutely
no part of the animal goes to waste.
- Lunch, and then a short tour of a Maasai home for an educational
lecture on customs and medicines.
- After sharing gifts with the village elders and saying
goodbye to the villagers, departure for Moshi.Arrival in
